No classes are being offered at this time, but anyone may use the links on this page to
prepare for the permit test, start test scheduling, etc.

The Learner's License Test will need to be taken and passed to start your 6 months of practice driving with a parent. During this 6 months each teen will need 50 hours of driving, 10 of which must be at night/dark. This is when students can start driving with their parents (assuming they pass). Study the manual to prepare for the Learner's License test. You can pick up a paper copy at the exam station lobby in Bozeman on Gilkerson Dr. or use the link below. It's a lot to study. To take the test students must provide an original social security card, an original or certified copy of a birth certificate, and must be a Montana resident (show parent's MT License). Start working early on obtaining the documents. The nearest Social Security Office is in Bozeman or use their website, and a certified copy of a Birth Certificate may be obtained from the county (or county website) of birth.
